Relationship Reflection

Partnership and Relationship are important because it the building block when gaining the thrust and support of children and families.

My family is the most important support system I have.

My sister and father are two people I have form great partnerships and relationships with. My father when I was growing up always forms partnerships and great relationships with my teachers. He made a point to keep the lines of communication open, made his expectation known and asked the same of the teachers. As a parent you know what you are looking for and relationships you want to establish and as a future educator it makes it easy to know what parents will expect of you.

I work in the school system in a support roll in the front office. Me and my co. workers have to partnership and establish relationships with parents’ in order to solve problems before they get to the classroom.

Some of the challenges to developing and maintaining relationships that I have learned from my experience over time understand needs of children and families and making sure their needs are being met.

I think my experience with relationships/partnerships, including my ability to be an active, reflective contributor, impact my work as an effective early childhood professional is to get to know the student and families provide them with best program possible.

  1. Hi Tonetta
You highlighted the importance of colleagues. It is important to our mental health to be a supportive co-worker and to be supported by coworkers, because we may spend more time with them than our families. Good blog.

  2. Thanks for your insight into building partnerships. I think it's great your dad established and maintained positive relationships with your teachers. It's so important for parents to be actively involved in their child's education and know what's going on in school, so that they can reinforce it at home. Great post.
